One of the coolest things about life in the UAE is that it is a melting pot of many different cultures. The UAE has a new population almost every day, so many new customs, traditions and experiences are introduced periodically.

Residence:

You must have a residence visa in the UAE and this requirement applies to all persons there except UAE nationals and GCC nationals, in order to live legally in Dubai and other emirates. In the case of some expatriates, their employers sponsor and enable them to obtain a residence visa within the UAE, which is as important as a business card or work permit. 

A residence visa enables the owner to open a bank account, obtain a driver’s license, register a car, and also apply for a mailbox.

Suitable clothes:

It is important that you respect the mix of cultures that exist in that country. So think carefully about what to wear while you go out, especially if you’re about to visit any of the crowded public places like markets. If you are a beach-goer, you should know that nudity on the beach is never allowed.

Learn to drive:

Driving in Dubai is on the right side, so you should make way to your left if you are not used to it in your country. For many countries you can simply swap your existing driver’s license to match it in the UAE once you have received your residence visa. Another better alternative is to use the metro for commuting, or any of the taxis and buses are available there abundantly.

Driving and alcohol:

Beware of bank charges:

The UAE banking mechanism is very fast to facilitate account opening procedures for new residents and the provision of credit card services, but is often not free. Most banks require a minimum balance to be held in the account. If your balance falls below this threshold at any time during the month, the bank may charge you a fee. Expats are therefore advised to use bank accounts abroad, but also be careful when using them. It is expected that you will be charged up to 2% when withdrawing money.

Healthcare:

Most companies provide health care for their employees, but be careful and observe everything you take, especially if your family is with you. For pregnant women, health insurance rarely covers pregnancy and childbirth and is not included in corporate health insurance policies. 

So it’s very important that you estimate the cost so that you don’t end up with a heavy financial burden and a bad surprise you don’t need in such circumstances.

Education:

The different way of teaching depends on the different curricula themselves. All curricula there lead to general exams and the same qualifications – an important point in choosing your child’s curriculum – so you may want to consider the requirements of any university and continue your education, whether inside or outside the UAE.

There are a variety of schools to choose from. Many schools require admission tests and school costs will of course vary.

Saving for the future:

One of the attractions for many expats is the tax-free income they receive, but one of the most important things that has been neglected during the move there is a pension for retirees. Very few companies offer a type of pension and savings system for retirees. If your company does not implement a pension scheme for retirees, it does not mean that you do not save for yourself! There are many personal pension plans that an expatriate can benefit from so don’t worry.

Travel:

You can live in the UAE in a lifestyle of your choice, whether it is expensive or economical. You should be aware of deals and discounts that enable you to buy a lot of things without paying the full price. Of course, for expatriates, they often travel and this travel can be economical in order to preserve wealth in the long run if you look for credit cards that offer travel offers for expatriates.

Homeliness:

Living with a person of the opposite sex is unrelated to any marriage or other offense, and may be punishable by imprisonment for at least one year and then deportation. The same applies to establishing physical relationships with a person without marriage.
